Bordering on

Work is progressing on the border of the curved shawl. I am probably about two thirds of the way around and I think it's looking ok now I have sorted out which threads of yarn to knit into to join on to the main body. The first few repeats of adding a border always seem to be a bit trial and error with spacing.

Hopefully I should be able to get this done and blocking at the weekend. I didn't have any recipient in mind when I started making it, I just liked the pattern, but a friend of mine has had a bit of a sad time lately, so I'm planning on giving it to her to hopefully cheer her up a tiny bit.

Borders frighten me with the spacing. Your shawl looks beautiful, can't wait to see it in full.
PS: yes, my camera phone is the same as yours, great fun and better pictures than my camera takes!

So it's for me then? I've been putting a brave face on things but you've clearly seen through my cheery veneer. If you could pop some chocolate and cash in with the shawl that'll be ace. Ta.

Ahh you're a doll! :)

The colour is stunning and I can't wait to see it blocked! :)

I still have to do a border on the shoulder leaf shawl thingy. I'm procrastinating. Scared.

Guess what I've been doing this week? Yes, knitting on a border too! It certainly takes some perseverance (groan, snore), but what a lovely present for your friend, you nice person, you.

I love the colour of your yarn - more details please.

It's looking lovely. The border's attached so neatly, too--I envy that skill. =D

Is it me? I've been sad. In between all the laughing and happy stuff obviously, but I was definitely sad when my pizza took ages to be delivered. You're so thoughtful. :)

How lovely, look forward to seeing the finished shawl - how could you bear to part with it, your friend can`t help but be cheered up to receive something like that.
